	FREE Credit Counseling Pelican has hired a full-time Credit Counselor to serve our members in Northern Louisiana. This addition makes three full-time Credit Counselors available to meet with you at your convenience. Credit Counseling is a completely free and confidential service that allows you to receive personal help with your finances. Our Counselors can help you create a budget, save for the future and give you advice on how to improve your credit score. Pelican Begins Renovations on New Corporate Office The Piccadilly name has been removed from the prominent building that has housed its headquarters on Sherwood Blvd. in Baton Rouge for nearly 40 years. Pelican Merges with Pinekraft Federal Credit Union With the unanimous support from both Boards of Directors, Pelican State Credit Union has successfully merged with Pinekraft Federal Credit Union of Pineville, LA. SEG Spotlight: LifeShare Blood Centers The history of one of the country’s oldest blood centers began in 1942 in Shreveport, LA when civic minded residents decided a blood bank was needed for emergencies created by World War II, for use by the military services, and as a safety measure to treat dreaded diseases. This civilian blood bank was the second of its type in the United States. Today, LifeShare Blood Centers has six primary blood center locations in three regions, in addition to several satellite offices and mall facilities. Over 160,000 units of blood products are transfused to patients in more than 80 hospitals in the LifeShare Blood Centers service area each year.
