To enhance the financial welfare and social responsibility of the membership by providing safe, competitive, economically sound products and educational service through professional management and competent staff under a democratic board of directors.
Our History
For more than fifty years, Pelican State Credit Union has been providing financial services to individuals and their families throughout the state of Louisiana. Since our 1956 founding, we have successfully carried out our mission statement by providing innovative products and services resulting in increased member loyalty.
Pelican State Credit Union was originally chartered as the Department of Hospitals Credit Union, which was located in downtown Baton Rouge. Our main membership served Louisiana Charity Hospitals, Mental Health Centers, and State Office Personnel. In 1988 we amended our name to "Pelican State Credit Union" and began to diversify our field of membership.
Pelican State Credit Union has grown to be one of the largest state chartered credit unions in Louisiana now serving over 28,000 members nationwide.
Despite our rapid growth, the directors and staff recognize the importance of personal attention. You can rest assured that we have our members' best interests at heart. We remain committed to developing and maintaining a relationship with each member providing the resources needed to enhance their financial welfare.
