Purchase electronically issued savings bonds directly at www.treasurydirect.gov. EE savings bonds are sold at half their face value. So by the time your bond reaches maturity, it has doubled in worth.
Invest in low-risk, government-backed savings bonds to finance future tuition, supplement retirement, and more. EE savings bonds make a smart gift for any occasion, including birthdays and graduations.

- Sold at half of face value; i.e., you pay $25 for a $50 bond*
