Learn how to earn rewards through your free Kasasa checking account. The best part is—it's easy!

Get the most out of your Pelican checking account by meeting the Kasasa Qualifiers and earning rewards each monthly qualification cycle.

What are Kasasa Qualifiers?
Kasasa Qualifiers are the qualifications that need to be met in order to receive rewards on your Kasasa checking account. Picture a checklist—ensure each qualification is being met each cycle, check off each qualifier, and your Kasasa rewards await!

You mentioned cycle; what does that mean?
The qualification period (or cycle) is defined as a period beginning on the last day of the prior calendar month and ending on the next-to-last day of the calendar month. For example, if your statement cycle is January 1 to January 31, your qualification cycle for that month would be December 31 to January 30.

I like rewards! But what are they specifically?
When the necessary qualifiers are met each cycle, the rewards you receive are based on the type of Kasasa checking account you have. Pelican offers three types of Kasasa checking accounts. See our checking account comparison chart to find out what rewards you earn on your specific account, or you can check our Truth in Savings disclosure here.

What are the qualifications I need to meet?
There are 3-4 qualifiers that need to be met in order to receive rewards—the number depends on the type of account you have. Again, they would have to be met per cycle. They are:

  • Be enrolled in and receive FREE eStatements
  • Be enrolled in and log into online banking or mobile banking at least once
  • Have at least 15 debit card transactions post and clear the account
  • (Kasasa Cash and Cash Back only) Have at least 1 direct deposit, online bill payment, or automatic payment (ACH) post and clear the account

What if I don’t meet the qualifications?
No need to worry! Again, the Kasasa Qualifiers are cycled, so if you did not meet the qualifications the previous cycle, you always have the next cycle to try again. There’s no penalty for not meeting the qualifications.

For Kasasa Cash, Cash Back, and Tunes, the minimum service requirements include: (1) making 15 debit card point-of-sale purchases (ATM transactions and transfers between accounts do not qualify) that are cleared and posted to your account during the qualification period; (2) having direct deposit, ACH debit or credit, or Bill Pay transaction posted to your Kasasa account; and (3) accessing online or mobile banking once during qualification period. Kasasa Cash and Cash Back accounts also require (4) receiving your monthly statement electronically. Transactions may take 1 or more banking days from the date transaction was made to post to and settle account. The qualification period is defined as a period beginning on the last day of the prior calendar month and ending on the next-to-last day of the calendar month. ATM receipt must be presented for reimbursement of ATM fees of $5.00 or higher within 30 days after the statement cycle where the reimbursement was applicable in order to receive a refund.
