Pelican State Credit Union Grants $6,000 in 2014 College Scholarship Awards
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA – Pelican State Credit Union granted a $500 scholarship award to twelve college-bound Pelican members in its branch communities.
Pelican has a long-standing history of service to local communities and the scholarship awards support those high school graduates who exhibit the same commitment.
"The 2014 recipients stood out among their peers as leaders in our branch communities. We look forward to helping these young credit union members reach their financial and educational goals as they enter college," said Jeffrey K. Conrad, Pelican CEO/President.
A volunteer committee made up of Pelican employees score the scholarship applications based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, community service and letters of recommendation.
