At Pelican State Credit Union, we prioritize your privacy and peace of mind. Pelican State Credit Union never sells your information to third party companies.
Unfortunately, per the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the three major credit bureaus, Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax, are allowed to sell your personal information to other lenders when you apply for a credit product. This is particularly common, and frustrating, when applying for a mortgage.
It's Not Just Us
If you apply for a mortgage with any institution, including Pelican, chances are that you will start to receive calls from other institutions who want you to apply for a mortgage with them instead.
This practice is out of Pelican's control.
Opt Out Today
Luckily, the Fair Credit Reporting Act has protections in place so that you can opt out of these intrusive third-party calls. We encourage all members applying for a mortgage to complete the opt out form at OptOutPrescreen.com.
The process is extremely simple and will save you from annoying phone calls and/or mailings permanently, or for the next 5 years. Opting out will not affect your credit score or your ability to apply for and obtain credit or insurance.
